Session Insights Overview

Session Insights

Session Insights records how developers use AI coding tools: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Antigravity, and reports on cost, usage, and working patterns at the individual, team, and organization level.

Why it matters

AI coding tool usage typically happens on a developer's laptop, in a terminal, with no visibility beyond that machine. Session Insights collects usage data from these tools and presents it in one place, so an organization can see who is using AI tools, how much is being spent on them, and how adoption is progressing.

What it provides

Spend visibility

Cost broken down by person, team, or tool, rather than a single combined line item on an invoice.

Adoption tracking

Which developers are using AI tools, which are not, and who has recently started, without requiring manual reporting.

Working-style data

How developers work with an agent, intended to surface effective patterns for the team rather than to rank individuals.

Supported tools

Session Insights supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, and OpenCode. Some tools report usage automatically once enabled; others require a one-time setup on each machine, described in Getting started.
